Generational journeys begin at the beginning.
HOUSE OF WILD
Africa is often seen as something to experience later.
We believe the opposite.
The earliest journeys shape how children come to understand the world.
When Africa is experienced through curiosity, safety, and thoughtful guidance, it becomes the foundation for a lifetime of travel.
House of Wild creates safari journeys where young children are genuinely welcomed, parents feel completely at ease, and Africa is experienced privately, unhurried, and deeply considered.
A considered approach to family safaris, shaped by experience.
Africa has had me for years. I qualified as a safari guide because I wanted to understand it properly, and I have spent most of my working life photographing lodges as Jemma Wild, embedded with owners, guides and the teams who run them rather than passing through as a guest. You learn how lodges actually work, why the people matter more than the place, and how vastly different a lodge can look on paper than how it feels to be there.
Then I arrived at one as a mother, with a toddler on my hip, and understood how little of it had prepared me. Jemma Park is the name my daughter uses, I'm the mum and the founder of this business.
We travel as a family now, and I still visit every lodge before I recommend it. I know which teams crouch down to a child's height without being asked, which guides have the patience for a four year old, and which family suites are actually designed for families. It isn't something you can tell from a website.
House of Wild came out of the gap between the two. Considered travel for families, from the very beginning of their children's lives. Without compromising on luxury.
Considered Placement
Every House of Wild journey begins with careful placement.
Families are matched with lodges, guiding teams, and regions that allow Africa to be experienced comfortably, and at its very best.
Extraordinary Encounters
A first safari should feel extraordinary.
Each journey is designed to create meaningful encounters with Africa - moments that shape a child’s understanding of the world.

Sense of Place
We work with properties that genuinely understand how luxury safari and young families coexist - where children are welcomed, and parents travel with complete confidence.
Travel designed around your family, not adapted to it.
Unhurried mornings. Flexible days.
Space to explore, rest, and experience Africa together.
From a family who travelled with us:
"We never felt like we had to apologize for having energetic children. Instead, we felt genuinely welcomed."
A family from Texas, USA | 10 days across Zimbabwe & South Africa · three boys, ages 3, 6 and 8
We've travelled extensively with our children and stayed at some of the world's best luxury properties, so our expectations were exceptionally high. House of Wild delivered an experience that was thoughtful in all the ways that matter.
"They instinctively knew how to engage children without compromising the experience for the adults."
Our game drives felt personalized, with just the right balance of adventure, education, and flexibility. Our boys were captivated from beginning to end, and so were we. What stood out most was how seamlessly the lodges created opportunities for us to enjoy time as a couple.
"This wasn't simply a well-planned safari. It was an experience that exceeded our expectations because every recommendation reflected a deep understanding of what families actually need."
